Solar PV
(PV – is the conversion of light into electricity) cells on the panels turn the light into direct current electricity (DC)
Inverter Icon
Inverter
The current flows into an inverter. Which converts it to alternating electricity (AC) ready to use

Your system will use the free electricity from your panels. Any electricity you do not use will be exported to the National Grid

Interesting Facts About Solar Panels

Fossil fuels just can’t compare to solar. It takes years to create fossil fuels, and it’s a limited source of energy and its extremely harmful to our environment. But solar energy produces no pollution when generating electricity, and with just one hour of sunlight it is equivalent to one year’s worth of energy for the planet.

There are just so many advantages to using solar energy whenever and however possible, that’s why we have made it our mission to meet the climate targets by converting our society’s energy profile to net-zero. Here are just some of the benefits of investing in solar panels:

Smart Export Guarantee

The Smart Export Guarantee launched on 1 January 2020 and is a government-backed initiative. The SEG requires some electricity suppliers to pay small-scale generators for low-carbon electricity which they export back to the National Grid.

Earn money from your solar panels – by signing up to the SEG system and do Grid trading. Note that the SEG only applies to people who installed their solar panels after 31st March 2019. This is just another great way to encourage people to use renewable energy to power their homes.
